Is it ok to tilt a snowblower to remove packed snow or ice?

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008
d-man72 asked:

When I am running my snowblower it sometimes misses packed snow at the bottom or some ice spots that may have formed. Is it ok to tilt the snowblower forward to get those spots or am I going to ruin the mechanism at the bottom? Thanks.

what is the best snowblower for a small woman to use in northern nj?

peppanuche asked:

finally giving in and decided to buy a snowblower rather than spend hours digging out with shovel. live in northern nj where winters are either mild and then we get a blizzard, or we get snow every other day. i’m a short, middle-aged woman and am not looking forward to dealing with a heavy piece of machinery early on a cold winter morning… but i don’t want a light-weight dinky electric snow shovel, either. any recommendations?

My snowblower is idling low, what could cause that?

Monday, September 15th, 2008
DNAphil asked:

I started up my snowblower this morning and it seemed to be working fine. After about 20 minutes it started to slow down, and slow down, to the point it could not toss any more snow. It had plenty of gas, and the snow is cold and dry. Any ideas what is happening?
