Went to mow my lawn today and my plastic gas cap on the mower is all hacked-up! went to change it with my other mower and same thing, and on my chain saws and snowblowers!
Upon closer examination it looks like pencil wide tooth marks.
I meant, pencil “LEAD” wide tooth marks

We live in New England and now, for the second time, we discover something is eating through the plastic gas tanks on our yard equipment. Has anyone had this experience? What’s happening? And what can we do about it?

It’s about 20-25 years old, and I last started it 4 years ago, and it worked. I replaced the spark plug, put in fresh gas, and hanged the oil. It’s a pull start, but it isn’t starting. . .Figured I’d ask before it goes to snowblower heaven.

I have a 100′ pavement driveway and we get 4-5 big snowstorms a year here in MA. We’re looking at a Ariens 11.5hp 28 clearing path or should we drop back a notch to a 9hp 26 clearing path. Its about a $600 difference. Just don’t want to overbuy and it takes up more room in the garage. Which size should we get and would you recommend an Ariens, Craftsman or Husquavana (something like that on the last one). Also are they easy to manuever?
