Please recommend a vehicle/tires that will get me down a 1/4 mile dirt driveway in up to 3 ft of snow?

December 6th, 2008
gerroon asked:

Thinking of moving to south Colorado near my Sis but would need to clear my own drive to get to the major highway. Push snowblowers, no way! Tried to research tractors/Bobcats but too confusing. Would only have this problem 2-3 weeks out of the year. I drive Saturn Ion; Son drive F150. Any suggestions? I’m not rich.

Is motor oil that is noted to be 4V the same as 4 cycle motor oil that is used in snowblowers?

December 4th, 2008
sg asked:

I was told to get 4 cycle motor oil for a snowblower I just bought. The only oil I could find was 4V and the store selling it said thats the same as 4 cycle oil. Is that correct?
I know what 2 cycle and 4 cycle is, the question is whether 4V is the same as 4 cycle.

Buying Large 2 Stage Snowblowers?

December 3rd, 2008
Craig C asked:

My neighbor has a concrete business, and does snow removal during winter. He always buys these large Craftsman 2 stage snowblowers for his jobs. It seems like he always has problems with them, and they are not even a year old! The plastic chutes break, shear pins break, and sometimes they dont run very good. He also has an older Toro. The Toro never has any problems! I told him today that he should invest in a brand new Toro, or Ariens snowblower instead of a Craftsman because that is what the professionals use, and they are made to handle the tough jobs. Besides they are much easier to get parts for, and probably have a better warranty. I never have problems finding parts for my 35 plus year old Ariens snowblowers. Am i right?

Snowblowers.cc vs. hp?

December 2nd, 2008
ds asked:

I’m looking to buy a good, reasonable priced snowblower. I think 10 hp and higher is best but I can only find snowblowers advertised in cc’s. What is a good cc? What is the difference? Thanks

Help ! My 18 year old Yamaha snowblower isn’t getting any younger ?

December 2nd, 2008
N.E. Cycle rider asked:

Help !!! Does anyone, anywhere know if Yamaha still manufactures snowblowers, and if so, where are they available ?? I currently own an 18 year old YS-828T model that despite my best efforts is showing signs of eminent death.. Obviously with a track record like this machine has, I would definitely like to replace it with an identical model if at all possible !! No U.S. dealer I’m aware of sells these excellant machines and I’m at a complete loss as to why Yamaha seems to have discontinued manufacture of them.. Any / All information is very much appreciated..
